Westacre Nursing Home Services
Westacre employs an experienced team of Registered Nurses on duty 24 hours a day with a combination of Registered General Nurses and Registered Mental Nurses at the home. The Nurses are led by a Senior Nurse and a Matron. The nurses work closely with our dedicated care staff, most of who have, or are working towards, achieving NVQ2.
There are a team of domestic staff who ensure the home is kept clean, and laundry is done on site.
The home has an Administrator who has worked at the home for many years and is always happy to help you with any enquiries. There are 2 receptionists who will meet and greet and help with any questions you may have. A full time maintenance man ensures safety is maintained in the home. He will also be happy to assist in personalizing residents rooms, for example, by hanging a favourite picture. There are 2 full time activities co-ordinators to provide mental stimulation and arrange entertainment for our residents. We have had visits from the Winchester College choir, the travelling farm, and several musical entertainers. Various group activities are provided such as quizzes, poetry readings and baking. One to one activities are also provided for those who do not enjoy group activities.
At Westacre, we focus on tailoring our service to the individuals who we care for. As far as possible we try to involve the residents, their families and/or advocates in planning their day, their care plans, their activities, and their meals, ensuring that the care that we provide is truly person centred.
