Mental Health

Peartree House provides person centred rehabilitation and recovery community services.
Set in Bitterne, a suburb of Southampton, close to community amenities, it includes a 9 bed slow-stream adult mental health rehabilitation and recovery unit alongside step down flats and bungalows. All accommodation provides a homely environment and 2 bedrooms that are safer for those in distress.

The slow stream mental health rehabilitation service provides time limited interventions (up to 3 years) and gives individuals the opportunity to achieve goals, increase their independence and ensure that they do not lose any of the gains they have already made before returning into the wider community.

The Step down units provides people with an opportunity to live more independently and test their skills whilst being supported by the MDT. This confidence building part of the pathway further aims to consolidate the skills developed by the individual and also provide funders with information to consider as part of discharge planning to the wider community.

We will aim to achieve this by:

Our Approach

Our Care

To support the recovery process Peartree has experienced and appropriately trained staff who will work collaboratively with individuals. These include:

Our Outcomes - Measuring Progress

For us the main outcomes are individuals achieving their goals. We know that this matters most to people.

Service outcomes
The service will also demonstrate achievement in social and independence life skills
We will also aim to make an impact on inclusion and a contribution towards reducing the stigma of mental illness in the wider community. To that end we will work collaborative with organisations that represent individuals experiencing mental ill health.

Step Down Facilities

As part of the rehabilitation and recovery pathway, the service has bedsit flats and bungalows. These Step Down units provide people with an opportunity to live more independently and to test their skills whilst being supported by the MDT. This confidence building part of the pathway further aims to consolidate the skills developed by the individual and also provides funders with information to consider as part of discharge planning to the wider community.

The support provided to individuals will be personalised to their needs and may include interventions such as medication monitoring, vocational training, independent living skills etc.
